Jacobs Jr. was an investment banker.She was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area of Mt. Lebanon. She has French German, Irish, and Scottish heritage. In 1847, her family founded the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery located in Erie Pennsylvania. John Martin Magenau Jr. acted as the company's President and COO up until 1978 when it was shut down. Jacobs started studying acting when she was eight years old, and she took lessons in acting at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. She performed in the Pittsburgh Public Theater, where she won the Public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest many times. Mt. Jacobs left Lebanon High School to go to New York City, in 2000. She joined Group 33, the Drama Division of Group 33. In 2004 she received an undergraduate degree.
